QM enjoyed another successful summer this year – thanks to you – our customers! Between Mid-June and mid-Sept we hosted 152 conferences & events, 2 weddings, 67,000 bed nights of accommodation and served almost 50,000 meals in our on campus catering outlets!! Working alongside QM's Sustainability team, Catering & Hospitality QM has been focusing on ensuring its food and sourcing meets the ethical and environmental demands of its customers, to demonstrate this, it has earned the Bronze Food for Life Catering Mark in recognition for The Curve and The Hive which serve close to 120,000 and 126,000 meals respectively.
Chris Jagger is the Catering Manager responsible for overseeing all food and drink outlets and hospitality for Catering & Hospitality QM – the in-house catering service here at the university. Having been in his role for just over a year, he talks about implementing industry-level standards consistently across all QM outlets with an emphasis on staff training, education and development.
Catering & Hospitality QM have secured a 5* rating in the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme in The Curve, Mucci’s and the SCR Café confirming that the outlets operate with a ‘Very Good’ level of hygiene. The scheme helps consumers choose where to eat out or shop by giving them information about the hygiene standards in restaurants, cafes, takeaways, hotels and food shops
