The local area around our London residential venue
As a self-contained residential venue, you have everything you need on campus – from cashpoints to catering outlets. A campus map showing the College campus and local area can be downloaded here: Campus map. However, the surrounding area is a fascinating part of London, with a rich and interesting history.
The Victorian Queens’ building at QM was originally part of the People’s Palace, a philanthropic project designed to provide educational and recreational opportunities for the local population. It was opened by Queen Victoria in 1887.
More recently, Mile End’s location between the City, Canary Wharf and the Olympic village at Stratford has opened up opportunities for massive redevelopment projects.
