The multi-purpose 770 seat Great Hall reopened in 2013 following a multi-million pound refurbishment to restore it to its 1930s art-deco glory and will host the live show on the 1st May 2014.

Central to the halls refurbishment was a brief to ensure the space could be used as both a performance and more traditional event space to maximise opportunities for commercial use.

George Foden, spokesperson for Events & Hospitality QM (Queen Mary’s hospitality brand) comments ‘The refurbishment of the Great Hall has given the venue a new lease of life and is attracting attention due to its marriage of art-deco styling with a state-of-the-art sound, lighting and audio-visual installation'. Adding, ‘From public lectures and conferences, through to comedy and live music the space is becoming the new place to be seen in East London.’

Events & Hospitality QM offers over 100 event spaces at the Mile End campus of Queen Mary, alongside facilities in the City of London and Whitechapel.
